INTRO

Janina was born on December 11, 1922 in Warsaw, Poland. After the war she moved to the north-western town of Szczecin, and later went southward to Poznan where she lived until she passed away on January 4, 2022 at the age of 99. Her mother's name was Natalia. She was a kind, elegant, and graceful lady. Her father's name was Tadeusz. He was an engineer who became an army officer. He fought in three wars: World War 1, The Bolshevik War, and World War 2. Like him, Ianina also fought in World War 2. She was 17 when the war started in 1939 and joined the Wigry battalion later on.
